Well we leave in 1 1/2 weeks OMG! By the end of the month we will be in SA!. Then coming back through again early Jan (or late Dec).

So I was wondering - does anyone have any last minute ideas, suggestions etc etc?

-Ideas for vouchers to save on outings

-Must see places - we have Flinders Ranges ont he list and of course all along the coast, but want to go right down to the points along the coast, and suggestions on whats best and what to avoid?

-little things we must see - for example it wasnt until I googled the Flinders Ranges that I saw how amazing they are, I cant wait to get there (photography hobby!!)

Anything else? Any really bad areas to avoid - we wont be going to the city, well maybe for a day or two to visit anything exciting there, we are pretty much hugging the coast except Flinders and Coober Pedy, otherwise its coast all the way round to almost Sydney from Perth.

Mt Gambier Cave gardens, The Coorong, penguins on granite island at Victor Harbour, Kangaroo Island, Robe, The Barossa, stop on the way to Coober Pedy and see the salt lakes.

I haven't been to SA in years, but the Naracoorte Caves are great, The Blue Lake in Mt Gambier, and as you cross the SA/WA border make sure you check out eh Eucla sand dunes at sunrise or sunset. All kinds of awesome. There are also some amazingly beautiful spots as you drive across the bite.

Barossa!

So are you coming along the coast across the top of Eyre peninsula? I love that part of SA. Streaky Bay, Beard Bay with the seals, Coffins, Pt Lincoln. Beautiful beaches and coastline.

Bottom on the Yorke Peninsula is very pretty, big cliffs and good surf spots. It's a long drive though. Kadina/Moonta/Wallaroo are the Copper Triangle, smallish town with a mining history. There is a ferry from Lucky Bay (Eyre Peninsula) to Wallaroo. Clare Valley is a small wine making valley with some world class wines.

Mt Gambier is lovely. My best memory of SA was lobster dinner at Robe - lobsters cooked straight off the trawler.

Mmmm yum!

We got the boys crab nets, hoping they will catch something on the way across for our dinner! lol

Must remember to check out the bans and such for the various states - wouldnt want to get booked for crabbing out of season! - never been crabbing but a person I know got booked a while back in WA.
