I'm flying OS in a few weeks for month. I will be 8 weeks when I leave and 12 weeks when I get back. Just wondering if I need to pack any maternity clothes? when did you start out-growing yours with your 2nd pregnancy - was it any different to your first?

Hmmm just started and I'm 16 weeks tomorrow. That said... some things in my wardrobe no longer fit around my waist even though I've lost 5kg so far. I mostly wear elastic waisted maxi skirts right now so that makes it easier. Also I'm a size 20 anyway so most of my tops have room for belly
I bought 5 items from Old Navy Online in the USA for $130 delivered - that's $26 each!!! Bargain. Thought they would all be too big when first tried them on but am wearing the shorts today and they are great. |

I think I was around 20 weeks (1st preg). Before that though my pants/jeans were a little snug, so I was using the hair elastic trick around the button/hole to extend them.
That said, all I've bought is a black skirt, leggings and a breastfeeding dress, and that's been enough to work in with the rest of my normal clothes. |

I am on my 4th pregnancy and my pants and skirts are only getting snug now( am 21 weeks) i think it depends on weight gain and food intake.. i am alot smaller this time than i was in my 2nd pregnancy...

With my first, I was about 20 weeks. My second, much earlier, about 14 weeks I think.

I started at 14 weeks - maternity jeans. For other items it was mostly around the 18-20 week mark e,g, work pants, shorts, skirts etc. Depending on your body shape & style of your existing clothes you might still be able to get away with non-maternity clothes for quite some time. I still wear the occasional non-maternity loose tops/dresses of mine now at 33 weeks - I am smaller on top. But when it comes to the bottom half - it is maternity all the way...esp undies.
I think you need to look at how/where your body is going to put on the weight. It is usually different for people. enjoy your trip overseas. |

I don't tend to fit into maternity clothes until well into the third trimester.
It's not that I stay skinny or anything, but my a*se grows in proportion with my tummy |

1st preg I needed some things (eg jeans) in mat style from 12 weeks, though some garments I could continue to wear until 20+ weeks.
2nd time round, I lost 5kg through bad m/s up to 15 weeks. Then I came good at 16 weeks and immediately needed all mat gear! |
