W are travelling to Perth in January to see BIL and SIL. We will be staying with them in Scarborough and travelling to Margaret River and Busseltin for 2 nights.

What is a must see? What can we do to keep our kids entertained (kids are 7, 5 and 11 months)?

Thanks

A drive up to Kings Park - there are a lot of playgrounds there the kids would love:

A drive out to the Swan Valley - heaps to do there, check out Cheese Factories, Chocolate Factories, Wineries, Brewery's, yummy food to eat, great places for morning/afternoon tea.

Check out Fremantle, there is the Fremantle Prison, E Shed Markets, lots of places to have coffee, lunch or dinner.

It will be very hot at that time of year, but if you are staying at Scarborough, you are right on the beach, maybe drive up to Hillary's too. They have lots to see and do there. Including AQWA.

Definately a day trip to Rottnest Island - its a short boat ride from Hillarys in Perth. You can hire bikes to take over, there's also swimming/snorkeling, walks you can take. One of my favourite places anywhere.

Busselton is a great holiday spot for kids. The jetty ride is a must (book online).

We drove each day to MR for wine tatsing in the morning, had lunch at a kid friendly venue (which there are a few) and then headed back to Busselton so the kids could swim in the pool, go to beach etc. I call it a 'win win' place where both parents and kids are entertained. Food at the lunch restaurants was lovely and quite a few had playgrounds.

Another vote for the underwater world at Hilarys. Short drive from Scarborough.

SciTech on a hot day. It is in the city.

If you wanted to head north for a day trip you could go to the Discovery Centre which is about 1 1/2 hrs north of Perth where the kids can learn about the stars and solar system. I have had lots of friends take their small kids there for a day out and the kids have loved it.

Then after that you could head 30mins further North and go to Ledge Point Holiday Park for the night. It is a Big 4 Holiday Park however it is not your typical Holiday Park. It is a 4 star Holiday Park with lots to do for the kids. There is a jumping pillow, pedal karts, beach within walking distance. Ledge Point is a gorgeous little crayfishing town which is really safe, which means you can relax with your partner and the kids can get worn out on the jumping pillow and pedal karts. There is also a swimming pool. The accommodation is great as well nice and really modern as the Holiday Park is only 4 years old. I friends stay there this weekend and they said their little ones loved it.

All of the above, plus the zoo is lovely, and if you want a day just to chill your kids are the perfect ages for Maylands Waterlands.

There's also heaps of really lovely spots along the river, Point Walter and Bicton Baths are great for little kids to paddle and play.

All of the above, the Zoo is fab.

There is also Landsdale Farm in Landsdale Darch ( Hepburn Ave) or Whiteman Park. But It will be very hot so you may want to stick to the coast and places like Hillaries ( heaps of restaurants, cafes, AQWA and water slides).

Enjoy
