Stressed....Whose Stressed...Who Said That!
Hi,

Well after waiting for 8 weeks for some synthetic fur to arrive from Canada, I gave up and bought some very nice material from Spotlight....so I have now been able to complete 2 out of the 4 Santas. The other two I am hoping to complete tomorrow.

One of the Santa's has been boxed and will be posted to the Uk, for my brother and his wife on Monday.

Here is the one I finished today:

He stands 50cm tall. They have all taken me a long time to make, I have hand stitched where the pattern has said to glue it....I don't trust glue to hold. But I am extremely happy with the end result. They are gorgeous....if I do say so myself Tounge1.gif

So what do you think?

They are Christmas presents for my brother, my oldest son and my oldest daughter. I even made one for myself laughing2.gif

Wow Santa is so cool. You have done a beautiful job creating him. I agree with you 100% that your Santa is gorgeous! Your family are so lucky to be getting them. If you don't mind me asking where did you get the pattern?

Thank you original.gif

The pattern is a Simplicity Crafts #9953. It has the Santa, 2 different Penguins and a Scarecrow in the patterns.

Unfortunately, doing 4 at the same time has taken a long time to make, so I dont think I could ever make them to sell. Plus I could only find some of the materials needed for them overseas. I got the red material from the USA, the buckles from Hong Kong. The fur I originally sourced from Canada, but it didn't arrive, so I found something else. When the fur did arrive I couldn't use it, as it makes me itch like crazy sad.gif

But as they were presents I have had fun making them. I'm now thinking what to do next Christmas....maybe a wreath or angel original.gif

Sorry to drag up this old thread but I just wanted to update it...

My Santa that went to the UK, arrived in perfect condition about 3 weeks before Christmas. I was so worried when it went through customs and it was xrayed the doll beads in it might look like drugs...I watch too much "Customs" I think...lol. I emailed the customs place and they said it would be gone over with a drug dog, so not to worry.

Anyway it arrived without being opened, and my brother and his wife loved it to bits. His DD's even made a video of them opening it...it made me cry to watch my brother who I haven't seen in 35 years.

I gave the last 3 Santas to my oldest son's family, my oldest daughters family and the last I gave to my mum and dad. They all loved them very much, so I am stoked about that original.gif

OK this thread can go back into oblivion, I have finished with it now.
