Hi girls,
I was hoping someone might be able to help me with my DH SA results, my doctor has been pretty unhelpful and just said that he has to do it again but after getting the report I would like to know how bad it really is.......
I will copy down EXACTLY what is on the sheet in case I miss some vital piece of info. Plus the following-
- sample 3:50 pm to collection lab by 4:40 and tested at 5:10pm (as per results)
- kept body temp
-abstained for 2 days previous to sample
-no lubricants/condoms used for sample and kept in sterile container

Volume 6.0 ml (>1.4)
Viscosity Normal
Sperm Concentration 126 X 10*6/mL (>14)
Non-Motile 65%
Motile L 35% (>39)
Non-Progressive 15%
Progessive L20% (>31)
Live Spermatozoa 77% (>51)
Leucoctes <1 X 10*6/mL (<1)

There is no mention of Morphology or normal forms???? So I am a bit confused. I am assuming anything with a "L" before it can't be good.

Seems like DH makes enough (alive) little guys. SOME just don't move as much as "they should". There are probably some good swimmers in the batch, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. You might want to try sperm friendly gels to promote sperm health/survival in the woman's vagina?? If DH drinks or, worse, smokes - he could try cutting it back/out and he will make healthier sperm in 3 months time. HTH good luck

Its awful isn't it- I think how excited I'll be to even ovulate and then the real waiting begins!!!!! I have only just found out I have PCOS pretty devo to be honest. I am a fit healthy person, or so I thought my gyno calls it "lean pcos" I came off BCP in May and have had 3 cycles around 42-48 days. I did OPKs throughout those cycles and I thought i was ovulating but in retrospect I probably hadn't as I never got a really strong positive.

Current cycle is still going on day 73, its my 2nd day of Provera, and then from there Clomid.
I still can't believe its happening to be honest. Thanks so much for the support and all the best, I will keep on stalking hahahah! original.gif

Sounds like we're in the same boat.

I have the cysts ("textbook PCOS ovaries" apparently), 3:1 LH:ratio, and annovulation.

Otherwise, I have no issues with insulin resistance, being overweight, testosterone being too high. I eat quite healthily and exercise on a daily basis too. I completely know the "why meeeee?" feeling sad.gif
I now just answer that as "to show you never to take things for granted" so it brings me much greater appreciation for what it is DH and I are really trying to do.

I found that educating myself about PCOS helped me feel better (er, being the key part there) about the diagnosis. Have you looked into the Colette Harris PCOS handbooks?? she's done 2 as far as I know, and I found them EXTREMELY helpful and informative. Might want to pop into your local library for a looksies?

I will investigate the Colette Harris PCOS handbooks they sound good, thank you. I have been doing research here and there online. But I haven't got my official blood results from the doc, she rang me last week and just said the few results she had were indicating PCOS. Plus the ultrasound showed I also have the text book "string of pearls" on my ovaries. I will hopefully know more re- insulin, testosterone ect by next week.

Thanks for the information biggrin.gif
