My bubs 5 weeks.

My question is about bath time. Do you bath bub at the same time daily? At the moment, I would bathe him right after a big smelly poo (he's mostly ff). For example, if he does it at 10am, I would bathe him then. If he does it at 2pm, then that's his bath time. I am not sure if I should just fix a bath time no matter what time he does the poo.

Asking this as sooner or later I would like to work towards a routine for him.

What do ÿou do in your case?

Thanks!

With DD we did similar to you, just bathed her whenever she needed it or when we had time. We did this until she started making mess with her solids and crawling around getting dirty and then it just became routine that we'd bath her after dinner. When DS was born we were already in the dinner-bath-bed routine so he just ended up being put in the bath everyday with DD, at the same time.
I think having that routine is good and a nice relaxing bath before bed can be good for a lot of babies, unless you have one who hates bath time them maybe day baths are better!

We found a bath before evening bed time was best. Relaxed them and made them sleep longer during the night.

For both mine when they were tiny I just bathed then whenever, if a poo required a bath then I would do it then, alternately whenever I felt like it.

Once they were eating I did the bath after the evening meal as both of them like to feed themselves.

Plenty of times they have had more than one bath a day due to poo or grottyness.

Always after dinner as part of a wind-down bed time routine.

Bath as part of evening routine (14 weeks). My DS does a decent poo at least twice daily so it'd be overkill to bath after poos.

Babies at 5 weeks don't really need a daily bath - although I've bathed daily since about 10 weeks, prior to that I gave him a nice wash with warm facecloth and if he did a big poo, added a wipe of warm cloth after wiping with huggies.

Daily at around 6pm. She's now 5 months old and she has learnt exactly what happens straight after a bath...a feed! And then bed. I find bathing at the same time helps her know what is coming next and what is expected of her.

From about 6 weeks we did the bath as part of the evening routine. Ds has always tended to have poo days and no poo days, and on the poo days that can be 4-5 times a day - no way am I bathing him every time!

Thanks ladies!

The part about using warm water n towel to wash his bum after a poo is good.

An evening bath sounds great!
