Sex with a period

I have had a mirena put in about 3wks ago so I'm unsure as to how long my period is going to last and/or spotting in between. Does anyone have any tips on how to have a somewhat mess free time during sex whilst having your period? I have read that diaphragms can be a helpful barrier and discovered (accidentially) 2 nights ago that a condom can work in a similar way . If only I didn't have to wait so long for a doctors appointment for a fitting of a diaphgram. I need something yesterday lol Is there something else out there that works along the same way. Please help

Turn out the light, and put down a dark coloured towel! I didn't think I'd ever do this until I remarried.... Then it became normal practice. The towel barely every gets anything on it anyway, mostly used to clean him off before he heads to the shower. I'd use the shower for the lot but can't reach the big o in there, so not an option! Lol! Enjoy! (loz we find it each in the strangest places...!)
