Hi Everyone,

I've recently come off the pill after quite a long time (so I don't even know what my natural cycles are!). We are TTC #1 - I am currently on cycle day 23 and have been doing OPKs daily since cycle day 13. I am using IC's - Fertility2Family.
I have not had a second line up until today. I tested both at lunch time and this evening and had a faint second line both times. It is nowhere near a 'positive' result but it is different to what I have been getting so I am hoping it is an indication that I am going to ovulate.

However, I have read about women who have gone off the pill only to have really erratic and long cycles. I have also read on here about women using IC's with varying and unreliable results. So here I am to seek clafication from EB!

If you start out with only one line, then start getting a second, does this mean that ovulation is due soon (within the next say 5 or 6 days)?

Any advice is welcome!

Proud mummy of 2 gorgeous boys with a surprise bundle on the way
You will get a sign of a line, majority being light but when you get a line that is just as dark if not darker than your control line it means you will ovulate in 24-36 hours following your +ve OPK.

I've used IC's Fertility2Family for years ... but recently got a bad batch and didn't show a single line!

So I've now switched to OvuPlan instead.

Honeypumpkin, it took me 3 1/2 months to get my period after stopping the pill! My doc said it was uncommon to go that long, but not abnormal. After 3 months I had bloods and an ultrasound done to check all was okay. So while most women get their cycle back straight away, don't be too surprised if it takes longer than you think! (and yes I had a clockwork cycle before the pill)

I've been using the fertility2family OPKs on and off for a few months and I don't get a true positive on them. I get the faintest of faint lines for most of the month and then a darker line (but not positive) when I'm about to ovulate. I count that as a positive, for me. I've read that the OPKs detect LH at a certain level in the urine, but some women have a naturally lower LH surge that is still enough for them to ovulate. That's me!

I'm not sure if there are better brands out there - I'll need to get some more soon so I wanted to try another brand, but I'm not sure which one to try?

OP I went off the pill in July and I since bad quite long cycles .. 42,37 and 42 days. So while they are long, they are kind of regular I guess. I have no issues anticipating O with ICs. I do get feint lines prior to O but definitely dark when I do O
