Hi!

I'm 31, and DS was conceived first cycle almost three years ago.

We have recently decided to start trying for a second baby. This is the third cycle of TTC, and my first month of using OPKs. I am now at CD11, and started peeing on OPKs at day 8, and I haven't had a whiff of a line on any of the OPKs I've done (besides the control).

I'm worried the well has dried up!

The OPKs I'm using come from oracle fertility, if that means anything to anyone - they were cheap!

hi OP,

It is my first cycle using OPKs too - I have just posted a question myself seeking clarification on OPKs. I too started out with no second line....until today (I actually thought that you were meant to get a first line to start out with - just really faint). So now I have started getting the faint second line, I am not sure what it means. Whether I could be in for a long cycle with a faint second line - or if ovulation is due any day now.

Hopefully any answers to my post will help you too - I am going to keep an eye out here too!

Thanks Honeypumpkin! It's confusing isn't it?

I also assumed there would always be a second line, but that it would darken leading up to the positive test.

Do you know what day you're on with your cycle?

I just did another test a little while ago and it came up with a really really faint test line, hopefully it will darken to a positive in the coming days.

I wonder if there is much variation between exxy tests and ICs.

I generally get a faint second line for most tests I do, I don't Ov till about CD23-27, so I don't start till about CD20.

You will definitely know a positive when you see it, the second line develops almost as quickly as the control and it as close to identical in colour as it can be original.gif

Some people get no line most of the month then BAM ... it's positive. Others like me would get a feint line all the time and would gradually get darker in the days leading up to O. Just keep doing them and if the line starts to darken try doing a few each day so you don't miss your surge.

Good luck!

I get a fade in without fail with OPKs. Before I started using Digital OPKs I used Confirm and tested from CD12 and noticed a fade in. I know that you are not supposed to but when I pop the stick out of Digital tester I even notice a fade in on the test window. I know enough about what happens that I know that at CD12 with the faint line I got that I would probably surge on CD14.
