My brother needs to travel from Brisbane to Sydney on Saturday to look at a second hand car to buy for his family. The flight is going to cost about $300 on way.
Year ago airlines would do standby flights....do they still do them? Or something similar? He needs to get to Sydney in the morning in order to check out the car and if it's okay, buy it and get to an RTA to transfer the details and then drive back to Brisbane in time for work on Sunday afternoon so he would need to get an early morning flight on Saturday. Is it worth going to the airport early and hoping to jump on - is it any cheaper, does anyone know? Also if the car is no good, he'll need a return flight home - that's quite a bit of money, but that's the risk I guess. Any advice...? Thanks!! |
