Did anyone have a name picked out, then have the baby and take one look at him/ her and go "oh no, she's definitely not a Lucy" (or whatever) and change plans?

Is it worth having a plan B (and C and D) in case the name just doesn't suit?

not quite your scenario, but DP chickened out on our chosen name for DS, so we had to go back to the drawing board. We still had our lists so that helped but it took 6 days for him to be named. I still wish we had gone with our original name but DP is content

We had two nanes for DD and she definitely was one name and not the other.

I personally think it's worth having a backup.

I don't think any baby looks like any name more than any other name. ph34r.gif [/Childless Hag™]

Yes, DD2 was going to be one name and then she came out and it just felt wrong. We had a list of 5 with 3 serious contenders for each.

We had 2 to choose from and once she was born and on my chest we both said she wasn't a Sarah.
I think it's good to have 2 or 3 to choose from just in case.

Yep happened with DD we tossed around a girls name in the beginning then liked another better and settled on that. DD arrived and looked nothing like I had expected DH and I looked at each other and decided she perfectly suited the original name instead so went with that.

No, names were set in stone both times (1 for boy and 1 for girl that is).

Yep. Sorry to people that have read this story before. My third son we chose the name Elijah. He was born and it was just completely wrong. He then ended up nameless for 2 days and with a name that we hadn't even considered.
