Ok wise people out there -

I've got gold class tickets for tonight to see a movie. I haven't been to a cinema since November last year, so I'm looking forward to it.

But I'm getting over a cold, and have this annoying cough. I'll probably have a few fits of coughing throughout the movie. I'm pregnant, so can't take anything other than lollie type lozenges.

Should I go, or wait till I'm better?

Go if you have a coughing fit maybe you could just leave the cinema until it calms down and then go back in.

Have the cough lollies and water on the ready.

The last time DH and I had tickets for Gold Class I was too sick to go so he took my mum instead!! biggrin.gif It was always my understanding that once Gold Glass tickets were booked that was it and you cannot get a refund if you get sick etc.

The part of me who hasn't been to the cinema in about 18 months says go, but the part of me who would be mighty peeved if I'd paid for gold class tickets and had someone coughing throughout says don't go.

How effective do you find lozenges at soothing your throat? If you can take something that should avoid the coughing, or you can feel a coughing fit coming on and plan to duck out of the movie, I'd go

The selfish part of me is saying go, and stuff everyone else biggrin.gif . Horrible, aren't I?

I can definitely tell when one is coming on, so maybe ducking out if I have one would be ok.

I might go to the chemist and double check that there's nothing I can take, and try some butter menthols today, and see if that helps.

I can get someone to go in my place, so there's no worry about me losing money.

Go. Absolutely and 100% GO!

Movies are so damn loud these days (shakes fist in old curmudgeon fashion) that nobody is going to miss any dialogue due to your coughing, and you need a night out to cheer you up. Do it.

My snarking is a medical condition.
I wouldn't go because I would be so worried that my coughing was interfering with those around me taht I wouldn't enjoy myself.

I think if not feeling well and coughing I would not go. But how are the tickets booked? Don't you just show up and get tickets at the movies when you get there? That is what we always do.
