I am seeing a Dr for this but so far nothing has been found. From time to time I get these horrible (as bad as labour) stomach cramps that end up with me vomiting, then diarrhoea and rotten egg burps (sorry). Last time was in August, time before was Feb and time before that was Christmas day. This time I have been lucky and have missed out on the cramps but yesterday I had nausea all day and then vomiting overnight, diarrhoea and egg burps today. I often have nausea in the mornings as a general thing. It really sucks as with both my pregnancies I had nausea for 9months so I am really over it. Has anyone had anything similar. I am having a barium meal soon but I doubt it will show anything as this only happens now and again. I have had a helicobacter breath test and an ultrasound. I am wondering if it is gastroparesis or maybe even a parasite. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

See if you can see the Dr as soon as it's happened again, something might show up on blood tests, like on a LFT (Liver Function Test).

I was just coming in to say it could be giardia as well. It doesn't sound as severe as most giardia would be but I was recently discussing this with my husband and he said smelly burps are a tell tale sign of giardia. I wasn't disucssing your situation just travel parasites in general. I am surprised your doctor has not tested for this. But you need a stool sample when you are actually sick so might need to wait a while. It is treated with a course of antibiotics.

Thanks! If I still have diarrhoea tomorrow I might go to the Dr to get a test request for parasites. I once had dientamoeba fragilis so maybe it has made a come back, however that was a few years ago now.

I personally think it sounds like giardia , I would also be asking for a colonoscopy.

I am sure it is nothing but it is better to be safe and sorry.

I have colonoscopys every 3 years to be safe.

Rottin egg burps are tell tale giardia. You can get it from water tank water in Australia sometimes. The on off natured of it sounds very much like giardia.
