Hi All,

Not sure where this belonged so by default it went with the little dude's age.

My wife and I are about to embark on our first 'larger' holiday with our 21 month old who will be 22-23 months at the time of travel. As we have been to most parts of Australia we thought given the shortish flight that Tasmania might be a good option for a family holiday.

Doing some research, we're quite prepared for the fact that some things will be accessible through some walk, at times strenuous. Comfortable with that.

I was trying to research what the best type of carrier I can buy to aid with the walking around Tasmania? The plan is for myself to carry the little dude on my back so I can free my hands.

I came across the Ergo Sports Carrier
(http://www.bellaslittleones.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=247&gclid=CJ_M3YyGzbMCFQhZpQodRFIAJQ&zenid=8bb9c68cb06652532641e499d92805fb)
which seems to have been designed for fathers.

I just wanted to know if there are any other options out there for the same purpose. I have seen the mei tei options but they dont seem secure enough for me.

The concern I did have for the Ergo carrier is that my son might be stuck looking directly at my back which I wouldnt want for him. Is there anything that i can use to carry him higher without holding him with my hands the entire time?

If there is a better place for this thread, please move accordingly.

Thank you for any help that I receive.

I'm yet to try one myself but I have heard good things about the toddler sized Tula. There is a facebook group Baby Wearing Buy Sell Swap that will have a lot of good advice about this which I'd recommend joining, there are links to vendors that stock various carriers and secondhand ones do come up for sale occasionally.

I have a Kinderpack in standard size which goes to about 3 years, there are toddler sized and even preschool sized options but they'd have to be ordered in from the US. Extremely comfortable and even has the option of a mesh panel in the back to make it cooler for both you and kidlet.
