Hi, Just wondering if anyone has seen any Advent calendars in the stores this year that are not chocolate ones?
Last year we had Disney Princess and Cars ones that had a little toy in each days window but i can't seem to find anything like that this year.
I have seen the Lego ones but at around $50.00 each i don't think i will be buying those!!!

TIA

Just Remember to breathe....
We have a lego one due to allergies.

But only paid $25.00 at toysrus.com (US site) during a sale.

I have only seen food based ones otherwise.

Last year DS had one made for him, we got envelopes, decorated them, and a small surprise was hidden inside, they were stuck to the wall, so each day he got to take the envelope off the wall and get a surprise. Stuff like stickers, bubbles, cars etc... all from $2 shop. He enjoyed that.

I have a wooden one with a little drawer for each day- I tend to do a few days with lollies, a few with a balloon or some other tiny treat and then the remainder are Christmas activities we do together eg Carols in the park, bake gingerbread etc

We made our own using matchboxes. Each box is wrapped in paper and has numbers 1 - 25 and put onto canvas (using velcro so it can be packed away) in the shape of a Christmas Tree.

This year I've purchased a Lego Friends set and will put pieces in each days box. (Works our much cheaper than buying the Lego advent calendar). For the bits that are too big to go into the box I put a little note in with a hint to where to find it.

Not a great picture but you can sort of get the idea.
