So my lounge room is quite long and kinda narrow. It is about 4.5 metres at its longest, with a 3.5 metre window in the middle of one wall, and the front door 80cm away from the window. The opposite wall to the window has the door to the kitchen right in the centre.
The short walls are approx 3 metres, but one has the TV in the middle, with a bookcase on one side and the Christmas tree on the other side, so that wall is out. The other small wall is to left of my front door and currently has a small mirror on it (ease of hair styling). I have tinsel draped along the top of the window and Christmas stickers on the window itself (crappy pain, will rip off with ANYTHING attached). What else can I do to make it feel like a Wonderland? Am I stuck with just draping tinsel over all the window and door frames? Am excited to decorate this year lol (if you cant tell) |

Instead of draping tinsel over the window and door frames, go and buy some long garlands of christmas tree type (hard to explain). Like These. If you have powerpoints close by you can also put lights in them. Looks nice and winter wonderlandish.
One day I'm going to completely line the ceiling of the pergola with them to make a real outdoors wonderland. |

Fairy lights? Not sure how you'd attach them...I purchased a couple of garlands from Myer on the weekend- one is a string of bells in silver, green and red and the other is a string of small, green and red felt balls. I'm also going to make some Christmas bunting to string up across a window or two.
Can you tell I LOVE Christmas? |

It depends on what look you are after.
Put tinsel on windows and door frames, hang ribbon from this with decorations attached. Clear things off your book shelf and have figurines instead. Use hooks around your roof and hang net lights across the roof. I found googling Christmas decorating ideas was really good lots of ideas from America. |

Some wall stickers maybe? I know it isn't a lot but I find they spruce up a room a fair bit.

When it comes to Christmas I hate renting lol.
Have moved some pictures I had up to hide the grotty thin paint (if I even wipe the walls it starts to come off) and have lots of nail holes to use :-) PP, how much were the bell garlands? Also, does anyone know where to find those old style foil decorations? I have 1 star one, but he looks lonely! Lol |
