I heard on the radio this morning of Melissa George's big hissy fit on the Morning Show, following constant reference to her stint on Home and Away back in the 90's. She's basically over it.
Here's an article about it http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/tv-and...1110-294uq.html I quite liked her in Home and Away, it was the only time I watched the show, and like it or not, I think she is probably still remembered in Australia as Angel. But it's probably a tanty she'll regret very soon! what do you think, embarrasing cringe worthy moment or do you think she has a point? |

Is there anything that actually shows her chucking her wobbly? I don't know where I am going wrong, I have seen a couple of links to video of her appearance on the Morning Show, and I click them and watch, but they only show her being normal during an interview, not this bizzare behaviour. Am I missing something? LOL.
And no, I don't think she has a point, I think she is being very precious, despite not having seen this actual footage. It makes her sound very up herself. |

Cringe worthy. I know she's done other work, but tbh I haven't seen any of it. I just remember her from H&A - and I never even watched the show! I think that she might end up regretting sounding like a t*at, but with that attitude, she just may not even care what we morons back on oz think.

I think the tanty was off air? Certainly seems quite composed in the actual interview.

I've seen her in grey's, derailed, lie to me. Fair enough, it must be annoying to constantly have to talk about that show, everyone's got their breaking point.

The tanty was off air after the segment.
She has done quite a lot since H&A. Her performance in The Slap was pretty impressive, among others. I imagine Nicole Kidman would be over it if everyone kept bringing up BMX Bandits every time she returned to Australia too. Or Johnny Depp if everyone kept going back to 21 Jump Street. Sure, she really let go, and she probably will regret it, but I'm not Ms Coolheaded every minute of every day. As much as she's embarrassed herself, I'd cut her some slack. |

I'd have been annoyed too. Why interview someone if you can't do your research and ask a halfway to relevant question? It's unprofessional and she has a large enough body of work not to need to spend more than a question on a role from her teens.
I'm fairly in her camp. I hate nothing more (that's right, nothing) than listening to some jumped up radio or TV hack with no skills trying to interview someone who is actually good at their job. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to listen to it. I can only imagine how trying it must be to be on the receiving end. And when it's a muso they'll inevitably play some high selling single from 5 albums ago, completely ignoring the album they are actually touring which is why they are being interviewed in the first place! Grr. |

I think Tory Maguire sums it up rather well: http://www.thepunch.com.au/articles/meliss...ge-has-a-point/ |

There was another article on news.com.au about it all today.
She also did a radio interview and hung up on them. They asked many questions about her most recent work and a few other high profile pieces that she had done. Well into the interview there was a question that referenced Home and Away and she immediately said that the interview was obviously over now and hung up. Frustrating? Yes, it probably is but the people who watched her on Home and Away would also form part of her fan base. This show did give her her start. Many performers answer questions about their roots without having a tanty. |
