I had my mirena IUD taken out in August. Last month, hubby and I didn't have sex while I was ovulating (according to my ovulation calendar anyway) but did have sex the day after. Now my period is 5 days late, but the 2 pregnancy tests I have done are negative!!

I am sure now I have put it out to the world, I will wake up with an unwelcome visitor tomorrow!

Are you going by just one specific day for ovuating, there are about 5 days in each cycle that you can get pregnant. Given that we can often ovulate a day or so later/earlier it is possible that you coud have gotten pregnant. Go and see your doctor.

There was a month while I was trying to get pregnant that I was a week late.

No, I am going by the 5 days on my calendar, but we had sex the day after I stopped. I guess I could be ovulating later than I actually thought, but whats with the 2 negative tests??

You probably ovulated later than normal or not at all. Unless you are charting theres no way to know for sure.

Our bodies can do all kinds of wacky stuff coming off birth control ranging from not ovulating at all to ovulating really late in a cycle. Unfortunately there's not that much you can do except wait it out. If you get past 40 days or so in your cycle you could try going to your doctor as there are ways to bring on a bleed and 'reset' your cycle so to speak.

If I went by an ovulation calendar I'd be stuffed as since going off the pill I have ovulated from day 12 to day 25!

This really isn't what you want to hear OP but it took me nearly a year to get back to normal after the Mirena. I had many cycles where I thought I'd ovulated but my period took forever to come, my GP did some bloods one cycle and even though I was sure I'd ovulated going by symptons, it was annovulary, and her advice was that the other strangely long cycles probably were too.

The good news is things did eventually go back to normal hang in there and good luck
