Hi ladies

Just a very quick question - do any you have a recommendation for a photographer that does good natural b&w shots of newborns (the first couple of weeks after birth)?

I live in the Eastern Surburbs, Sydney and all the quotes I am getting seem to be double than what I was charged for my wedding (including photo album and full Cd of images...!!!)

Any recommendations would be much appreciated
Thanks

I can highly highly recommend Renee from Sweet Emotions Photography. She is based in the hills district so a trek for you with a newborn, but can travel to your place.
She came highly recommended to me by another new mum, admittedly I picked her because her prices were the most reasonable (chek out her webite for details, she has no minimum spend which is great) - we went there hoping for good photos, but what won me over was just how wonderfully kind and gentle she was with our baby. She rocked him to sleep many times and he was putty in her arms. I joked that she should come home with us and settle our boy every day! She is incredibly patient, our boy pooed on her set twice and shed have some major washing to do, but was not fussed at all! I was mortified and she was just so sweet and said its part of it and not to worry at all.
Anyway i could go on but I'll let you have a look at her website and decide. She got some fantastic shots which made chosing very hard, but we stuck our ground and only ordered 5 - when she sent us the CD of images she had actully inlcluded two other ones that she said were her favouites as a bonus!

We had Footprint Nursery photography as a complimentary service for the hospital we birthed in. As timing wasn't that great in the hospital, the photographer came to our place for the hour long shoot. We didn't pay for the photos, but still had an online album and the low res photos (which was good enough to print 4x6 and email). If we were to get hi-res it was $400-500ish.

So check if your hospital has any photographers doing drop by service :-)
