Hi everyone,

I put my name down on the waiting list at the new Jigsaw Childcare Ctr in Civic mostly because as a new centre I figured it would have a short list! Anyway, I've just been offered a place but feel a bit like I haven't done my due diligence. I've visited the centre and it looks lovely but I would be keen to hear some feedback from others here who are already using the centre. What are the staff like? How does it compare with other CC you may have used?

It will be my DD's first time at CC, she is one and will be going 2 days per week. I'd welcome any other advice re CC!.

I just rang their head office to inquire and the lady was new and really couldn't provide any useful info...however as I'm desperate, I'll pay the $50 and go on waiting list (so far wait list fee tally is @$250!)...
Since the centre is new, it doesn't even show up on the mychild website and it definitely don't have any history of accreditation...

we've actually recently took our son out of the creative kolas (jigsaw) childcare you're asking about. the centre is new and beautiful, but there are no proper walls that divide the rooms which means noise travels across rooms easily. with it being a new centre and alot of kids starting at once, there was alot of unhappy kids settling in.

our son wasn't in there very long considering we started at the centre when it opened in september, but it felt like the right decision for us.

we found the environment too stressful for our son with all the constant crying of other kids (and himself) and the staff too overwhelmed to give proper care.

fyi he was in the little explorer's room (the toddler one starting around 12mths) not the nursery.

as with your child our son was just about to turn one and was in 2 days a week. apparently those that go in full time adapts better, but i think it still comes down to the individual cases

Hi happi_losti,

Thanks for the feedback. Bit nervous now the deposit is already paid but these things are not irreversible and should DD not be comfortable in that environment, we will have to find a new solution, as you have. I certainly have my fingers crossed that the kids and staff are a little more settled by the time we go there. Are you comfortable in sharing which centre you have ended up at?
