DS who is 3.5 yrs goes for around 4-6 weeks or so being completely dry overnight, then for the next few 4-6 weeks he switches back to being wet everynight.
This seems to be an ongoing pattern, and I'm just wondering if its normal?

Hi Rocktot, well I can't pass myself off as an expert, but that is certainly our experience with DS 1 , and talking to mums at school it does seem to be common....our son started being dry at night from around 3, but it was hit and miss so we kept him in pull ups until around 4 and a half when he told us he no longer wanted to wear them...fair enough we thought...but he still does wet the bed (he is just turned 6)... We seem to have a run of a week of dry nights but then he will be wet, wet nights do seem to coincide with him being overtired, a late night, a bit sick etc...

That is what happened with my DS as well. We went through stages of pull ups or jocks over probably a year until one time he started being dry and has only wet once since (he has been dry for 6 months now)

We had a similar experience with DS. He stopped wearing nappies to bed at age 3 after a couple of weeks of dry nights. And from 3-4 he had periods of being dry for weeks followed by periods of wet beds for a couple of weeks. We went overseas for 7 weeks and he didn't wet the bed once in that time, came home and the bed was wet every night for the first few weeks.
Since he turned 4 he has had very few overnight accidents and now at almost 5, I am contemplating removing the brolly sheet from his bed.
Fwiw we never put him back in nappies or pull ups during that time. He didnt want to and I didn't find it a big deal to whip the brolly sheet off in the middle of the night and change his pjs.
