I've been browsing presets lately and there are some nice little ones out there. In a set though, I admit there is only a few I would use, and fairly sparingly. I have seen a few photographers on FB use presets on everything and I admit I sometimes wonder are they using it to "hide" a less than fantastic picture? Or perhaps a little caught up in photo-tweaking frenzy?! They are not hideously expensive and the brush tools you can purchase seem like a nifty idea.
WDYT? Waste of money or a handy tool used properly?

I don't think I would buy them but I have installed quite a few free ones. I do over-use them, I know it. And I do think you get in the trap of trying to fix a photo rather than just try again to get the right shot. However some of the presets are really subtle and are great for doing several photos in the same theme. You can still do all your own tweaks after the preset has been applied, very few work out perfectly on a photo as they are.

They are a bit of fun but I'm a beginner so still learning how to edit properly on my own as well (not to mention take a great photo in the first place)!
