We have a lovely timber outdoor lounge setting that is about 10 years old and I am in the process of giving it a light sand and re-oil and its coming up like brand new.

That is the good news.

The bad news is the cushions/covers are looking really tired and worn, which makes the whole setting look awful.

The actual cushions are still quite firm and could be recovered.

However I have looked online and for the 8 cushions we need, to get replacement cushions would cost bot much under just buying a new plastic wicker setting.

I am not overly great on the sewing machine, otherwise I would try making my own covers.

Does anyone know where I can get some covers made that wont cost $70 plus each?
I don't want any fancy piped edging NPR does the material have to be super expensive outdoor stuff as the setting sits under a pergola.

I am in Melbourne if that helps.

You say you're not that good on the sewing machine, but it wouldn't be that hard to do yourself. Just take an existing cushion cover apart and use it as a template to cut your new fabric.

If a zip is beyond you, use velcro to fasten them shut.

And if you decide to do them yourself, spend a bit more and get the outdoor fabric. Even if it's mostly undercover, it'll still degrade over time. I had some indoor cushions outside, under cover, and the fabric fell to bits over a couple of years.

My Mum got replacement cushions from Kmart last summer - might be worth a look.
