I have just installed the bases of our Safety first one safe baby capsule into both my wife's and my car.
I am able to secure them so they do not move at all but the problem I'm having is getting them level so the actual capsule sits at less than 40 degrees as per the instruction manual.
In the instructions it says to roll a towel up underneath the base to help level it but even then its not enough unless I use a beach towel and then due to the recline of the back seats the stabilising bar is no longer resting on the back seat.
Any suggestions on this would be great.
I will call the company on monday morning and if they cant help I will have to get them installed from an installer.

For my Unity capsule years ago the installer cut a foam wedge to fill in the seat back so the rebound bar was secure.

We are having the same problem with our safety first capsule. How did you get on with ringing the manufacturer I am thinking that we night have to take it to an installer to do it properly.

We used a towel ( Commodore) & then took it into Kidsafe to get it checked. Might be worth doing that & they can advise you on best method.

Our installer used a rolled up towel.

Just ring your ambulance or fire station & they will usually give you a day that someone will be there to check it over & make sure it's installed properly...all for free

Ok, I took it to get installed by an installer and TBH I do a better job myself.Before he even started he said that they are the worst capsules to install.He ended up trying to install it behind the passenger seat but couldn't get any better than 45-50 degrees which I wouldn't except as it clearly states this in the instructions.He believes its a mistake as all other capsules are set at 45-50 degrees but I rang the company and they said its not.He ended up just giving me a refund for install.I will just pack it up with towels until it is level on the base which give you the 40 degrees.The stabiliser bar doesn't need to be touching the chair.Hope this helps.

We had our safety first capsule instaled by Littles Car Restraint Installers (Sydney). They brought a pile of cut to size cardboard pieces to level out the base on the seat and then used a rolled up towel to wedge between the bar and the back of the seat.

Occassionally the wedged towel does come loose, but this is just refited by us.

Not in Victoria they don't! Is Qld the only state that does this?

In Vic local councils sometimes offer free restraint checks, but if in doubt, a professional installation is only about $35.

I had the same concern with our one safe seat so took it to be checked. Yes a towel was used to level out the base and that made the rebound bar lose contact with the back of the seat. Not ideal but apparently isk. He then wedged a piece of foam in the gap between bottom of the rebound bar/base of capsule & the cars seat. If that makes sense.
