Is Luella too close to Annabelle?
I'm expecting my 3rd baby- siblings are Annabelle Charlotte and Edward (Ted) William. Luella could potentially be NN Lucy or Lulu. Lucy would just be Lulu.
Middle names seem to be easier to match to Luella but I don't want to use it if it sounds silly!(I'd love some suggestions for middle names for either Lucy or Luella too please.)
Boy name will be Hugo George. Thanks

What about Lucinda? I think it fits better with your other name choices than Lucy.

I prefer Lucy/Lucinda to Luella. But have a soft spot for Lucy original.gif

These are all lovely names (the 'Lucy' ones) but I think Lucinda would be perfect with the sibset whereas Luella and Lucy less so.

BTW I'm loving Hugo George

ETA Louisa would also fit very well and could be a Lulu too:

Lucinda Caroline
Lucinda Frances
Lucinda Celeste

Louisa Stephanie
Louisa Marcelle
Louisa Celeste
Louisa Catherine

I don't think Luella is too close, it's ppppretty close but it walks the line, if you know what I mean.

If you want the -a ending for flow, there's Lucinda or Lucilla or Lucia? (loo-see-ah being my favourite pronunciation of Lucia)

Luella Simone
Luella Phoebe
Luella Claire
Luella Tansy

Lucy Zara
Lucy Fiona
Lucy Delphine
Lucy Raina

A lot of the one syllable ones like Mae/Maeve, Blythe, Fern, Wren, Niamh, and Claire work with both.

Agree that Lucinda seems like the perfect compromise. Luella is beautiful but you'd have to be sure you're not going to end up with "Ella and Bella" - otherwise I don't think that matching siblings names should be the clincher.

Ooooh, Luella! Much more interesting to me than Lucy, and Lulu is so sweet (and I think Rose is the best middle name for any first name!)

I'd go with Luella. I think it's a beautiful name original.gif

Lucy absolutely.

I'm not fond of Luella but I don't like any of the Ella/Elle names really.

from Luella or Lucy to choose from and the current sibling names you already have, I'd go for Lucy.
Lucy Catherine,
Lucy Anne,
Lucy Sophia,
Lucy Victoria,
Lucy Jane,
Lucy Adelaide,
Lucy Alexandra.
I find name selection does also depend on what the last name is going to be.

I like the PP's suggestion for Lucinda though. I like Lucinda Elizabeth (keeping with the traditional style names).
