We have an Anna and a Sascha Ingrid. Our surname is Russian and I guess we have a 'Russian-inspired' theme going on. I am all out of ideas *sigh*
At the moment our not-hated list includes: Boys: Lukas Leo Valentin Luka Rhy (and I like Ziggy, but DH says no) Girls: Layla Valentina Zoey Mathilde |

I like Luca, esp with your surname, and don't mind Lukas. I'm with your DH about Ziggy
I also like Layla and Zoey but would prefer Mathilda to Mathilde. And I'm fresh outta new ideas, because I am TIRED! |

Lukas - nice, but will get mispelled Lucas a lot. And Lucas is intensely popular.
Leo Valentin - I prefer Leon or Lev to Leo but it's not bad. Luka - I prefer Lukas. Rhy - How is this pronounced? Girls: Layla Valentina - I like Leila more (said the same way) but EB's very splintered on that. I don't really like Valentina but a lot of people do. Zoey - Please spell it Zoe? I love Zoe. Zoe would be my choice. Mathilde - I like it. Other suggestions: Viktor Dmitri - Ilia/Ilya I would have said Alexander/Aleksander and Andrei but you're probably trying to avoid repeat initials. Girls Veronika Valeria/Valeriya Irina And there's Alexandra/Alexandrina but maybe not. EDIT: love Tatiana, auldlangsyne! This post has been edited by la di dah: 09/11/2012, 07:50 PM |

I'm of Polish descent so I understand how you want to run with the Eastern bloc naming (if I have a daughter next her name will be Ania/Anya) - so many BEAUTIFUL Russian (and Euro in general) names. Don't mind Luka for a boy. Good luck!! |

I was going to say my issue with Layla Valentina is both end in the same sound and that's not ideal but now to be honest I can't think of any Russian girls names that don't end in -a.
