I love drama. It's so dramatic.
I don't mind Guy Sebastian's version of Wonderful World.

Frente's Bizarre Love Triangle(?)

I agree with someone in the other thread that I Will Always Love You is now Whitney's.

On a similar theme - does anyone have a CD that was realised by Triple J about 20 years ago called To Hal & Bacharat? It was a bunch of covers of Hal & Bacharat songs (der).

I had that Hal and Bacharach CD!
Ex relieved me of it, along with rest of CD's and vinyl sad.gif

Burt Bacharach is the only "star" I've ever met - he was in an elevator, dressed in a bath robe.
My brother pointed to him and sad "You're Burt Bacharach!"
Just in case Burt had forgotten who he was.

We got the Flinty-Clinty look from the security guy.
And I of course did the *snort-rasberry-noise" you make when you are trying very hard not to laugh. Sounded like a fart.

So Burt thinks I farted in the elevator.

i digress.

Not saying these guys do it better than the orginial, just like 'em

Mr Bojangles - Nina Simone -Can't remember original artist
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley - Cohen
Respect - Aretha Franklin - Otis Redding
Pixies -Winterlong- Nope, memory stuffed.
Faith No More -Easy -The Commodores
Jealous Guy - Roxy Music - Lennon

And i liked Frente's take on BLT too

Ask me about my cats
Jeff Buckley's 'Hallelujah' and Johnny Cash's 'Hurt' are the definitive examples of covers that completely blow away the originals.

Both of these. Johnny Cash's Hurt is just brilliant.

Agree Johnny Cash's Hurt is great - but I would say as good as the original. yyes.gif

I like any version I have heard so far of "Superstar" by the Carpenters. Hard to muck up such a great song.

I second the vote for Roxy Music version of Jealous Guy.
