Was in a rush yesterday (when am I not ??) so didn't reply properly.

Indigo, I was emotional reading what you said about your emergency csect. So sorry that you had to undergo that ESP all the overwhelming emotions that came with it. I know I would feel the same if I had to go through delivering my bub earlier than I was ready...it was something constantly on my mind too after I experienced some contractions soon after returning from overseas at 28 weeks, even though my first one was born at 40 weeks, there's just so many fears cos this baby is IVF conceived.

I hope your csect wound heals soon. hugs!

Mums, does your bub have green poo? I haven't been changing nappies much as the nanny has been doing so, but yesterday when I did, I got a rude shock. Bubs poo was soft and dirty green (sorry tmi). Nanny said it was normal. I thought this would be due to fore milk hind milk but he doesn't take a lot of breast milk so I am puzzled. I tot this only happens to 100% BF bubs. Do you get that?

Bubs seemed to have an upset stomach was hungry but just couldn't drink from the bottle yesterday evening...Kept thrashing and struggling...After trying to burp him and applying peppermint oil mixture to his little tum, he finally burped and finished his milk. Started to wonder if I should get some gripe water or infacol.

Hi All, long time no post, but I have been reading. Will do my best to remember, but new thread and all....

Puffs, Sorry that you are having trouble dealing with your birth, must have been very scary knowing things might not have been so good. I hope that you are able to find peace soon, having you be ok and DS being here and healthy is the most important thing, but your feelings are totally valid.

Kels, well done on keeping ticking off those milestones. Have you made any decision about trying for a VB?

Indigo Hope that DD is feeling a bit better with her reflux. I can relate, I hsd shocking heartburn when I was pregnant. That zantac is great stuff. Also sorry to hear that you are having mixed feelings towards your birth. On a different note, after your post about the carriers, I tried DS inthe ergobaby when he was grizzly, it is a hit, he settles in it really well. Now to try and get him to settle in his bed....

M2T I monitored my blood sugar for two days after the birth, and a my levels were all good. I hve to do the GTT again next week, so hopefully that is in the clear. I am using the medela SNS too. I like it much better than the bottle. Not sure if it is doing anything for my supply though....

AFM We are doing well. I have a bit of a cold and am doing my best not to pass it on to DS. We ahd a bit of a milestone the other night, he slept through! DH came out in the morning (he is in the spare bed) really worried because he hadn't heard him cry during the night. Alas, it appears to have been a one of at this stage, but heading in the right direction.

Still having trouble with my supply too. Like M2T I have also set a time frame to stop taking all the extra measures (pumping, sns etc) to boost my supply. After that I will just comp feed until he is 4-5 months and hopefully drop the formula for people food.

Whats sleeping all night?

I'm lucky that bub only wakes every 3 to 4 hours for a feed. I am getting the hang of bf but for some strange reason struggle feeding him with my left breast, he fusses when on it and i feel awkward feeding on that side.

We came home from the hospital today So nice to be back home, my cat is so scared of the baby. Its kind of funny to watch the cat run and hide everytime the baby even looks his way.

Having major issues with my BP post pregnancy. Saw a Doctor today who has said if it doesn't start coming down soon i will have to see a specialist.

My baby's poo's are like a mustard colour, which apparently is normal when your milk comes in. I cannot get over how many poos a little one can do.

I better go, will be back later with personals. Need to check on bub for the millionth time

Hi all,
I will pop back in when I can once I have read all your posts....things went down hill for me on weds so this will be a bit of a me post....sorry..

Got up Weds morning (7/11/12) felt fine and was making a cuppa in the kitchen when I gushed blood. It was everywhere, running down my legs...awful. Rang the labour ward and then rang an ambulance and my DH. Was told to lay down on my side till the paramedics arrived. Within 10mins they were there and loading me into the ambulance. I told them to take me to my chosen hospital but they didn't want to even though I said my OB was expecting me. Thankfully my OB chose that time to ring and check on me so he spoke to them and said that he was ready for me with a theatre and anaethetist waiting. I arrived at the hospital 15mins later and our DS (yes, its a boy!) arrived by emergency c-section 10mins later. I was only 34wks and 2 days but he weighed 5lbs 10oz which is pretty good.

Unfortunately due to his early arrival, his lungs were immature so he was transferred to the NICU at another hospital to go on the CPAP machine. He came off that yesterday morning and is now just on an oxygen tube across his face. I got transferred to the same hospital as him a day later. He is making improvements slowly but will be in hospital for 2-3wks Once he doesn't need the NICU support, he can go back to my preferred hospital to their special care nursery. He's taking whatever I can express as well as getting some formula now that he's passing urine properly.

Thankfully, I got to be awake when he was born, the anaethatist wanted to give me a general but my OB said I could have the spinal instead and DH got to cut the cord.

Everything has been so overwhelming....the tears won't stop since last night and I am struggling to express. The midwives can get 1-2mls of colostrum out of me but I can't and it's so frustrating...

Oh Kels, - what an experience. On one hand, what a shock for you Wednesday morning, but you did all the right things and that's a pretty fast turnaround to bubby coming out, pretty amazing. On the other hand - you're a mummy, so congratulations! 34 weeks is a fantastic achievement and your little one will be just fine. Don't worry about being a mess - you guys have been through a lot. It's really wonderful that your little boy is taking your EBM, and is improving with regards to breathing, and that you got to see the birth!, so try and focus on all those positives. You did a great job getting as far as you did and now you have a healthy little bubby who will be home with you before you know it xxxxx
