Our niece turns 6 in the New Year, and is very very tall for her age.

So much that our BIL says in her FYOS (NZ, starts at 5) she's easily as tall as many 7- 8 year olds, and is now in size 8 clothing for the length. She's quite slim though, so most clothing is baggy on her at that length.

She's got lots of skirts and tops but he'd like her to have a nice 'party dress' that will fit her. I thought it'd be nice to get something here and send over as part of her xmas parcel from us.

DD has just turned 2 and is only moderately tall in comparison wink.gif so I don't know what brands are out there that work well for tall slim young girls.

Any ideas? Am happy to buy from a Melbourne shop or online store.

3 is the number for me
Gumboots have some lovely dresses at the moment. Maybe even a maxi?

Thanks, I hadn't thought ot maxi's but if we can get the length, we can not worry about the larger size, to prevent it bagging on her. Will check them out.

I always loved Pumpkin Patch as the clothes were pretty, trendy but age appropriate

is it only a dream that there'll be no more turning away?
Pumpkin Patch have some very girly styles ATM. As the mum of a tall, skinny 10 yr old DD, I find Next, Monsoon and Cotton On to have slender enough fits so that your waif isn't swimming in their dress.

Another vote for Pumpkin Patch. My niece is the same age/size and I brought her a lovely party dress there last year. She is very tall but super skinny. I find their clothing to be a nice fit.

Target has some lovely dresses in size 7 (in the 1-6 section) and are now stocking Victoria Rose which used to be sold in Myer. My DD is also in a size 8 for height and very skinny and the Target size 7 stuff fits her well.

Thanks for the suggestions and brands and I'm checking them all out. We've sent a couple of links over to BIL who can advise on her likes and dislikes style-wise so we're getting there.

It's been great seeing the options and brands that DD may grow into over time too. Cheers
