I run the uniform shop at our school, as a volunteer in my own time. We are having a clearance sale atm and I spent the afternoon filling orders and delivering stock to classrooms.

In my DD's classroom, after I had made my delivery, I was walking out of the classroom past a large table where some kids were colouring in. I had my head turned waving at my DD, so yes, not looking exactly where I was going, and as I was walking past a child sitting in a chair, she pushed her chair back so I tripped over the child in the chair and we all went down in a heap. The child was not injured, I took most of the brunt of the fall. Child was upset obviously, but I and the teacher sat with her, and she was definitely not injured, just had a fright I think. I know this child well, she is a friend of my DDs and I do roster in the class all the time, and I had just had this child at our home for my DD's birthday this week. When I picked up my DD at the end of the day (this happened about a half hour before school end), she was happy and fine.

I am assuming the teacher will have told the parent (as she should), if you were the parent would you be p*ssed off at me? unsure.gif I feel terrible, it was a total accident, one of those things, thankful that the child wasn't injured.

I am just wondering how the parent might feel?

It was an accident. There's nothing to get angry about. No one was injured and it could have happened to anyone.

I wouldn't be angry in the slightest sounds like an accident. I would probably be more concerned about whether you were ok.

Are you ok? Bruised?

It wouldn't upset me no, sh*t happens.

If a parent were upset by it then I would hazard a guess that they have a screw (or 10) loose.

The teacher probably won't mention it, they don't have time to report every mishap to parents.

If you are worried about it, simply say to the parent next time you see them 'oh did X tell you I accidentally tripped over them the other day?' and take it from there, that way in the case of screw(s) loose, they won't be able to accuse you of hiding it.

Nope, not at all. Accidents happen and I would just be happy that both of you were ok. I wouldn't worry about it all.

I'd probably have a bit of a giggle at your clumsiness (sorry OP) but wouldn't be angry.

No, and I wouldn't be upset even if my child was hurt. These things happen. Hope you're not too bruised OP.
