Sorry for the pram spam, but trying to suss out a few options and figure out what I want!
For those who have the duet, do you find it on the small side? I really like the fact its only as wide as the urban, but I worry that the seat is too small. DS is on the smaller side anyway, BUT...I dont want that to be the reason I get it as for all I know he could shoot up in size at any time! The size of the duo does not bother me too much as I think I have decided I want to get a dedicated wakling pram, but I will still go to the supermarket etc hence the duet is slightly more appealing. The Duo is being discontinued so the lady at the baby shop can do a really good price for the duo, but again for the sake of $90 I dont want that to be the deciding factor |

I have a suspicion that the Duo is better made. The Duet is just such a bargain in comparison to the old Duo prices where I've looked.
We just stripped down our (single) Urban and our 2nd hand Duet to clean and service them. The fabric on the 2010 made Urban seemed better than the 2011 Duet. The basket on the Urban is a little more sturdy with more pockets, and the framework of the canopy seems a bit better. I'm not sure, but I thought the Duo was the same as the single Urban in these regards? Plus the Duet is a lot of pram for a little chassis. I wonder if the steering on genuinely rough terrain might be a bit better on the Duo? I have a friend who's had an old Duo (maybe actually an Urban double?) and the thrashing she's given it on farms and unsealed roads is amazing - and it still handles really well. Size is critical for me, so I'm still thrilled with the Duet as a double pram, and still think I'll be happier with it than the BCJS or BCJMD I was considering. The Duet still has great MB design and steering. I think kids can look like they're about to outgrow a pram long before it actually is too small for comfort (based on my Bee experience). Especially with MB canopies which tend to bunch around their heads unless you push it back behind the seat, they look cosy, but there's still quite a bit of grow room. However, if size is not such a big deal, I suspect I'd go the Duo (provided it's the model with two separate canopies. I wouldn't buy the one which has one wide canopy going across both seats.) Maybe worth having another look at them side by side? |

Yeah I think I have decided on the Duo. Really the only place size will be an issue is at the supermarket, and even then I think I wont get in the way as much as people with a trolley who decide the middle of an aisle is a good place to stop!
We will very rarely need to put it in the car so again, size isnt an issue! Going to the baby shop to try my son in both though before I make the final decision! The duo's are going to be hard to come by soon - baby bunting only had 2 left when i was in there yesterday and then thats it! |

I have a duet and love it. My 4 year old sits in the seats and he is comfy. Yes he is a little big for it but its not made for 4 (5 in Feb) year olds and it still steers fine with him in it. I brought it for my 2 year old and new born but quite often I have them in the seats and my 4 year old sits on the front of it and it is still nice to push. I had a strider before it and it is so much nicer to push with 3 kids then the strider and that is off road.
I went to the baby shop getting the BJCS but compared to the duet it was horrible to push. I also loved that the duet was narrow. Its narrower then my strider which is great because I use to have trouble getting out some isle with my strider. |

Love, love, love my duet. I wouldn't want it to be any wider. It fits my 2.5yr old just fine and will until she no longer needs it. She also sleeps very well in it. Of course my little one (11 months) fits fine as well!
