DH and I dropped into Bunnings for a few things today. The checkout girl took one look at us and blurts out "oh, that reminds me, 'Beauty and the Geek' is on tonight".
DH was speechless!

DH was out with DS one day when the car broke down. He called road service and when the guy arrived he said "it might be safer if your grandson waits on the other side of the fence". Needless to say he has not been allowed to forget that one.

My stepdad had an embarrassing moment yesterday. We were at Dreamworld with some visiting family and went on the Madagascar rollercoaster with the kids - it is pretty much a kids coaster so the seats are smaller, but their dad is pretty big and fit without problems so I scoffed at my stepdad when he said 'I probably shouldn't go on this one, I might not fit into the chair'. Well soon after we were all seated on the coaster, harnesses down and buckled, the operator came on the microphone and said "we're just going to release the harnesses for a moment to let one passenger off"…my stepdad walks past, head down, scurrying towards the exit as quickly as he could - turns out the seatbelt wouldn't reach the harness over his stocky self. We couldn't help laughing at him and calling out things like 'walk of shame, walk of shame!' but I felt sorry for him. Especially when his 10-year-old niece declared 'I'm glad I ditched you to sit with mum instead!'

It's all an act for the show, in reality they are a lot different. Same for the geeks, they don't really all look like they do when they first come onto the show.
