For reasons best not posted here, I want to be out of the house tonight. From 6 ish till late (11 plus). I'd rather not try to rope in friends.

So, armed with a car and a few bucks, how would you spend 5+ hours in Melbourne by yourself on a Thursday night?

BTW I'm in the inner north and would prefer not to travel too far afield.

Late night shopping (I think stores are open til 7 or 8 - though it's been a while for me!) then dinner at Mama Sita or another of those hard-to-get-in places (you'll be fine if its just you, and they have bar seating so no table alone), then a movie!

A little bit jealous...

I'd take myself to see South Pacific or see what the MTC had on.

Inner North...Mmm, you are spoiled for choice I think original.gif It depends on what you like to do. Lots of great little cafes and restaurants. I love Brunswick St for shopping and dinner, is also great for live bands original.gif
If you like live music you could try these:
Dan Sultan and Leah Flanagan on at the Corner Hotel
Tinpan Orange are on at the Northcote Social Club
THE Migrations and the Fujiyama Mamas at the Retreat Hotel from 9pm....
Or you could do something like go to the Aquarium...
Or, go to a gym and do a casual class first, then head out for dinner and finish with your favourite dessert Tounge1.gif
