Still stuck on girls names for baby #3 due early June.

Do you prefer Eva or Evie, and why?

Thanks!

I was set on calling my now 5 month old Evie. Just thought it was a lovely uncommon kind of name.

My DH hated it.

In the end he won.

I also liked that 3 part "Evie" song.

I ended up calling my DD "Ella".

Come to think of it, I like the letter E.

I love Evie. Just gorgeous and a little edgy.. wink.gif

But if you'd like something more traditional my friend's little girls name is Evelyn but is called Evie more often.

Perhaps Elsie?? Super cute name too.

I like Eva better than Evie as a full name.

Evie sounds short for something. It's a bit like Katie: very cute, fairly classic in itself, but youthful and a bit soft. I wouldn't use Katie as a full name but I don't mind it as a nickname at all, its actually quite cute.

If it were me (I know its not) I would go Eve, then call her Evie for short sometimes.

Evie but it doesn't seem as traditional as your other 2 childrens names. What about Emma?

Eva, and then perhaps Evie as a nickname. I prefer Eva because it sounds more grown up, and gives more choices for nicknames - my SIL Eva gets Evie and Eve as nicknames.

Hi, I have a 6 year old who is "officially" Eva, but we have always called her Evie. We love Evie but felt it sounded a bit young and as she gets older she may like to be Eva.

You can have both :-)

Eva definitely, you can always use Evie as a nickname. A gorgeous, classic name. Eva is beautiful with Rose and David.

Evie.
My dd gets her name shortened to Eve

ETA - honestly OP although I'm not a fan of Eva if I could go back in time I would use Evelyn or Eve for my dd instead of Evie. I still love her name but wish we had gone with a more formal option.
