If a life expectancy is say 81 years, is youth from birth to 27, middle aged from 27-54 and old aged from 54-81? Give or take

Or do we discount the youth, and say you are a kid until you are 18, young until you are 39, middle aged from 39 to 60, and old ages from 60-81?? I'm learning towards this one.

When do you think you are middle aged?

All Mustelidae wrangled. Except badgers. Drama llamas by appt.
Middle aged is always about 10 years older than whatever age I am at the time.

Old age is about 25 years older.

Love this!

A few years ago I would have said 40 was middle aged, but now I am 40, so definitely not!

I think I'd class myself as middle aged around 45-60.

I dunno. I'm 37 and I don't feel young but I don't feel middle-aged. I'm just ...aged.

I think I'll be in limbo until 45 and then I'll be happily middle-aged.

Perhaps middle-age begins when you can't wear skinny jeans anymore or does it start before then?
