Hi Ladies,

We're expecting a precious boy in Jan and struggling to find a name that goes with our 4 letter surname...I like names like Lachlan and Harrison but Friends have children with those names already and DH isn't sold....DH likes Thomas, Benjamain and James...

I'd like a name that can be shortened but still 2 syllables... My concern is that Ben or Tom is too short with a 4 letter, one syllable surname.

Anyway...love to hear your ideas... original.gif

Will be watching this thread, as I also have a 4 letter surname. Not that I'm pregnant yet...just brainstorming at this stage.

We have similar tastes in names - that is, I like all the ones you mentioned. DS is James Alexander - what do you think of Alexander? It can be shortened to Alex or Xander. We would have used Alexander for a first name, if we had have thought we might have another baby, so we'll have to think of something else.

I love Benjamin and Thomas, I wouldn't shorten those great names so nn wouldn't play a part in going with the surname.

Others I like are:

Alexander (Alex)
Elias
Jonah
Lucas
Reuben
Samuel
Oliver
Patrick
Cameron
Nicholas
Callum
Jeremy
Adam

I love the name Benjamin. YOu can shorten it to Benji. original.gif

Look no further OP.
(Unfortunately I was not allowed to have it for boy 1, 2 or 3. I did get to use it as a middle name for my third though. biggrin.gif)
