OPKs will not tell you as early as a HPT when you are pregnant - because OPKs have a much higher threshold/sensitivity (at around 35mlU/ml whereas HPTs are around 12.....

ETA: What you might be seeing in the OPK might be just your natural LH that circulates throughout your body, all the time throughout the cycle. Hence we need to wait for the SUPER dark OPK to tell us when we have our LH surge
