Trust me... I'm a scientician
...Not neccessarily because you're a big fan but just because you like the name?

Here's the deal, I am just in love with two boys names... they were on my list as seperate names, but they were the two faves so I thought I could use them as a first an middle name. I have tried to think of others, but I really can't let these go, I keep coming back to them...

Jamie Oliver ...

I can't do it can I? Or can I? I told my BF and she said it's a beautiful name and I should use it, but I'm worried people are going to think it's a bit odd. WDYT? Any alternative suggestions?

Don't crowd Sir Walter, Edmund.
If Oliver is the middle name, it's not as if it's going to get used on a regular basis. If Oliver is your surname, that's different and I probably wouldn't do it, however it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. There are plenty of people that share their names with celebrities.

Keep calm & put it on EB.
Agree with Vanessa. If your surname was Oliver I wouldn't, but as the MN I don't see it as a big deal.

If DD2 had of been born in the 2011 AFL season I would've tried to name her Frankie (after Buddy Franklin) DH liked the name until he put two and two together.
She is named after Nicolas Cage though wink.gif

I guess the risk is how popular Jamie Oliver will be in 10 years time.

WDYT of James Oliver instead?

A family member (who passed over 150 years ago) name was Benjamin Franklin. I guess that's different but I have to admit I giggled when I heard it.

Love it, but don't think I could do it. I'd fear my family members would call him Jaime Oliver all the time just to spite me...

I work with a guy named James Bond - his parents didn't think that movie would be a big deal when they named him. I don't think it worries him but it does come up a lot.

laughing2.gif I can just picture it. 'Oh, who will remember that film in 10 years time...'

No our surname is not Oliver, I wouldn't do that! I do like James Oliver, I was considering using the name 'James' as perhaps he would prefer a more grown-up sounding name when he gets older. Thanks for the feedback!

I would use James. It's a great name and goes well with Max (coincidentally, Max and James are my twin boys middle names).
