hi everyone,
i'm pregnant with my 2nd baby and the due date 5 july 2013. i was wondering if anyone could please share their experience on either kareena or hurstville private hospital recently? and which ob do you use? this morning i went to hurstville maternity tours, but unfortunately i have to wait for the next 2 weeks to do the tour at Kareena, they only do tours at the 1st and 3rd week. i was sort of fixed on hurstville private initially, but kareena private is a lot closer to where i live. please share / pm me thank youuu |

Hi Jebu,I had my first at Kareena and my second at Hurstville Private. The staff at Kareena were very rushed and stressed, including my obby, and mistakes were made. I personally would never go there again but I do know other people who liked it.I couldn't speak more highly of Hurstville Private. Most of the midwives have been there for a really long time. They enjoy what they do and were super kind and lovely. My obstetrician was amazing. Chalk and cheese in my eyes.Good luck!Peta

I can highly recommend Hurstville. The staff are fantastic, the food is the best you'll get in hospital anywhere (so tasty and nutritious), and my OB only delivers there now. The fact that nurses stay there for decades says a lot about what they think of the place. Can't recommend them enough really.
It's also easy and free parking for your visitors which is a big bonus over St George Private. I have no experience with Kareena and haven't heard anything bad. Ultimately, choice of OB will determine as well. I can recommend my OB if you want to PM me. |

If you were willing to go public I'd recommend Sutherland Hospital to be honest. They are fabulous, and you are pretty much guaranteed a private room.
My friend just had her second there (her first was at Kareena) and said she found it really good. I'm due to have my third there in February, i couldn't fault them. I have heard positive things about both Kareena and Hurstville. One friend uses a Dr Roper to deliver at Kareena. This post has been edited by lozoodle: 07/11/2012, 08:23 AM |

Hi, I'm new to the site and don't know how to PM you regarding your recommendation of the OBs in Hurstville Private, can you reply to me? Thanks! |

I am going to deliver at Kareena Private. I was choosing between there, Hurstville & St George Private but ultimately Kareena is my preferred. Hurstville is closer by about 5 mins but parking sucks, actually it sucks at all 3 but Kareena are now charging for parking so I think that may make a difference.
I choose my Ob for Kareena by looking at their website, seeing what Obs deliver there and then researching them. My Urologist also gave me the thumbs up & really likes the Ob I am going with so that was good enough for me. |

Hi leebec, I am trying to decide on an ob at the moment, Kareena is closest for me, but I don't know which ob to go for. Can you please pm me the details of the ob that you chose at Kareena and let me know how you are finding them so far? Thanks! |

I have had all 3 of my children at Hurstville.
It is lovely, same midwives still there, parking ok, care excellent. I live closer to Kareena and they were lovely when my children had surgery there. I chose on the basis of my Ob (I would follow him anywhere!) and a positive 1st birth at Hurstville. |
