Hi everyone.

So far we like the following 3 names: Damien, Derek and Drake (my partner loves this name, however i am not 100% sure about the name)

Also, what are you thoughts on not having a middle name? Is it compulsory in Australia? would our baby boy be at disadvantage for not having a middle name?

thank you

Middle name not required although is handy for identification purposes.

Damien gets my vote

I like Derek. There's no legal requirement to have a middle name but I agree with isola Bella.

Drake. My DP doesn't have a middle name and it's never really an issue except for when he is filling out forms and they often tell him he forgot to put it on there and some places have to write on it that he doesn't have one so they don't send it back apart from that it doesn't bother him not having one

I really like Damien. I like middle names but you don't have to have one if you don't want to.

I like Damien, quite a lot actually.

No need for a MN but it can help to distinguish you from others esp on the internet. My DH has only one given name. His mother thought she only had one so he should too. But he found it a bit annoying when he was young and asked for it rather than asked if he had one. He sometimes divided his first name up for fun (or others did and sometimes just in error). He couldn't care less now. All his younger siblings got second names but I think his mother thought and probably still does that they are just a bit of a chore.

Middle names are good for when the kid is being a pain in the ass. It lets them know they're REALLY in trouble when you shout out their whole name.
