So I'm ready to have this baby! I am so so ready. Not in a physical 'I want my body back' way, but in a 'A want to meet you baby boy' way.

Despite the vomiting, fainting, exhaustion, the tossing and turning in pain every night I have LOVED being pregnant. After the struggles to get here I've just felt so blessed to be given this gift and no matter how crap I've felt I can't help but be amazed watching my belly grow and baby kick. Every day I feel thankful.

But now I am ready to meet him, I may have made it this far (39+4) but until a healthy pink baby boy is on my chest I haven't reached the finish line. I need to see that he is real, that he is okay and that I've actually given birth to a baby boy I will be able to take home and love.

At my Tuesday OBGYN appointment baby was engaged way down low and locked in tight, Cervix was soft and 1cm Dilated but still 1inch long (so not yet effaced). the OBGYN said I'd probably experience a full day of pains before labour as my cervix needs to shortened. He gave me a S&S then that afternoon I got acupuncture. Yesterday was a full day of Braxton Hicks then some decent pains and contractions in the evening (maybe this was the period of pain needed for the cervix to shorten?).

For 1.5 days until last night I also was losing parts of my mucus plug and had a constant red tinged discharge. I'm not sure how much you are meant to loose so I may have only lost some of it?

Today things slowed down and the discharge reduced in quantity and is clear. This afternoon after another acupuncture appointment I got more cramps for a few hours but that’s slowed down now.

I feel like my body is moving forward but it's hard to know if labour is hours away or a week away.

So now I patiently wait.....

Two words... Gutter walk!

Walk around the block, one foot on top of the curb and one foot in the gutter, you'll see your boy soon!

I'm a total lurker, but I'm waiting to see you have a babe arms.

Good luck!

how exciting smile1.gif so happy for you....if you keep getting clear pinkish discharge over a long time maybe get it checked that it's not your waters leaking. I had clear pink discharge for 2 days (I thought it was part of my 'show') only found out in hosipital that I had a hind leak & my waters had been slowly leaking out over days (bub was fine..but I had IV antibiotics). Good luck & enjoy the ride xox

Thanks for the heads up. TMI--- It was more red like, as you would see for old blood with stringy and mucusy little bits in it.

I'll keep an eye out for light pink.
