You can find them here mostly (filter to preschools only) Where abouts are you OP? I'm North shore so can help if you are around here. You will find it difficult to get a place in the best ones as they ave waiting lists of kids from birth practically but, you can get a place eventually. They are all in process of doing enrolements right now for next year so you need to get on phone to them ASAP Kitty |

Many independent schools have a pre-school attached. My daughter went to preschool at the school she now attends.

All the private preschools i know of in that area have already filled all their places with most sending out their offers in September or October.
You need to get into it quick to have even a small chance of a place as most of them have people on the waiting lists hoping for a cancellation. You need to get on the waiting list a couple of years before you want the spot for most of them, particularly the very popular/well regarded ones. |

What do you actually mean by a private preschool? Last time I looked there was only one or two public (government run) preschools in Sydney. I suppose most are council or community run, why wouldn't you want to go to one of those?

I echo what belinda has said.
Of course there's always going to be the odd cancellation slot that opens up, but Sydney's north shore is notorious for demand exceeding supply on the preschool side. My recommendation for you parents of little ones is to get their names down early at more than one school. Stay in regular touch with the schools to see if any spots have opened up. My son attends a private preschool affiliated with a wonderful school (K-6; 7-12) in NW Sydney. They have just filled their slots for both 2-day preschool (kids who are three in 2013) and 3-day preschool (kids who are four in 2013 & will be starting kindergarten in 2014). If you have an opportunity to get your three year old a spot -- even if you were originally contemplating sending your child only for the year before kindergarten -- go ahead and GRAB IT! Good luck. It sucks that it can be such a full on process. |
