I'm trying to decide between the Bugaboo Cameleon, Stokke Xplory and Silver Cross Surf. I really like all three of these strollers, but none are perfect. The negatives I've identified are:
- Stokke Xpory - takes up a lot of boot space - Bugaboo Cameleon - difficult to fold up - Silver Cross Surf - small, difficult to access storage basket I'm after a pram to use both for walks around home and for trips to the shops. I have footpaths, but my parents' street doesn't, so I would like it to be able to do some offroad. I definitely want a pram where the child can face me, even after they are out of the bassinette, which is why I have excluded the Baby Jogger. Should I also consider an iCandy? We are planning a 2nd baby about 18 months to 2 years after our 1st. Should I take that into consideration? Or just buy a new pram later if/when I need to? I have a medium sized hatch and our other car is a Mazda 3 sedan. The Stokke Xplory takes up a lot of boot space, but I like that you fold it without removing the seat. Which has the best sun protection (either standard or add-on)? This is important to me. Does anyone have any feedback on any of these prams? (Edited to delete Xplory and add iCandy peach in heading, and to add update in post #18) This post has been edited by Wrenny: 17/12/2012, 02:55 PM |

I bought the cameleon version 3 which has just been out the last couple of months. Found it easier to unfold than previous model.
I do have a friend who bought an iCandy and she liked it because she and her sister in law would be having babies of similar ages and the iCandy would be able to carry both of them. Agree with what you've said about the Stokke, Another friend had pointed that issue out to me. It's also pretty heavy. |

An update...
I've now ruled out the Stokke Xplory as I could only just fit it into the Mazda 3 boot and it took up the whole boot! I'm now doubting the Bugaboo Cameleon 3 as I'm worried it will unfold and dent my car while I'm getting it in and out. This is because it doesn't lock when collapsed. I'm now leaning towards the iCandy Peach. It folds up really compactly, and I'll have the option of adding a 2nd seat if I have a 2nd child soon after the 1st. I'm still considering the Silver Cross Surf, because the chassis is so light (7.5kg). However it doesn't take a capsule, and a 2nd seat can't be added, and the seat is long, so doesn't fold up as compactly as the Peach. I've now realised that the Cameleon and the iCandy only take a Maxi Cosi Mico or a Unity capsule, both of which only have a 1 star CREP safety rating. So I might as well get the 5 star rated Safety 1st capsule and not worry about a travel system. Anyone have any feedback on the iCandy Peach? |

Hi. I'm a big fan of my bugaboo cameleon. not at all hard to fold and unfold once you ahve done it a couple of times. also can't see how it would unfold when putting into the car...have nothing but praise for this pram.

The baby jogger city select still gives you the option of having bub face you once out of the bassinette. It also has the option of the second seat.
It folds up flatter than the icandy too. |

Regarding the Safety 1st capsule....have a google...on here in car restraints and also look on strollers and prams, as the girls there worked out you could remove a plastic bit off the capsule and there were adaptors underneath and i think they fit other strollers (even a cammy!!!!)....here you go, found a link.
http://strollersandprams.com/forums/viewto...=10&t=42501 The girls on s and p would also be worth asking about your stroller choices too....oh, and there are some new model Stokkes coming too.....all on s and p.....happy reading:) This post has been edited by dae-gu: 01/11/2012, 11:00 AM |

I have an I-Candy Pear (I just use the one seat in it) and I love it:) I obviously brought the Pear for our twins but just took the extra seat and adapter out to use with the current bub. That way when/if we have another I can just pop the seat and adapter back on. I do a fair bit off foot path/gravel path walking and it is really smooth
ETA - I brought the bassinet material and used that for the first 4 months (at which stage bub out grew it). I still have bub facing me, however in the pear it is not as simple as just popping the seat in and having him face you one day and face away another, there is a screw or something that needs to be undone and then something is flipped over. Sorry that is not very clear my DH does it for me, I just wanted to point out that you can just chop and change which way bub faces, which suits me as I love to just stare at my little man, he is probably a bit sick of looking at me though:) This post has been edited by MummyIHK: 01/11/2012, 11:06 AM |

I was also tossing up between the Bugaboo Cam and the Xplory, but then I came across the Joolz day.... it is basically the lovechild of the bugaboo cam and the xplory.
The Joolz is European made (unlike the bugaboo which feels incredibly cheap and like it's going to fall apart when compared to the Joolz) and has the height of the Xplory (so can be used as a high-chair when pulled to the table) with the style of the Cameleon. Folding down is pretty easy, but I found the Cam easy to fold too. http://www.productreview.com.au/p/joolz-day-earth.html The Joolz can be converted to a travel system with the maxi-cosi mico and titan too which is super handy. The titan is safer than the Mico which appealed to me. Bub is able to face you, or face away - you just click the bassinet or seat into the chassis in the direction you want them to face which is nice and easy, no bolts etc. We ruled out the icandy as by comparison it is super heavy, you have to purchase the bassinet separately and the legrest doesn't extend which is sure to be a problem for us as we are both tall and bub is measuring long already. Good luck! This post has been edited by bluebirdbaby: 01/11/2012, 11:14 AM |

Thank you to all who replied for the great information you provided. I have lots to investigate now, with the maxi cosi adaptors, other prams to add to the list of choices (Baby Jogger City Select, Joolz Day). I'll be back to update you all later.

I've had a baby jogger city select, a bugaboo cameleon and currently have a bugaboo donkey and a stokke xplory by far my favourite is the donkey. It's amazing for walks, for the shops storage is great I honestly love it. I have the safety 1st capsule to use on it with my next baby.
