Just seeking any other EB members who are the christmas light crazies? We have a huge display that takes 6 weeks to get up and months to plan. This year we have 70 metres of RGB going up and another 800 metres of LED going on the roof alone. Also have to find somewhere yet to buy 6000 mini candy canes to go out to the kids who visit. Just wanted to find somewhere to chat lights without getting overly technical ( the australian christmas lights forum gets me glazed over sometimes with the 36 page diagrams to program LED screens)
Has anyone had any luck with the new version of Light Show Pro? If you are not yet a christmas light crazy but would like to be feel free to ask questions. |

I love Christmas lights but we have none as yet (except on the tree My only suggestion is to start! They are amazingly addictive. I started 7 years ago with one string of outdoor lights, that then doubled the next year to 2, then the next year 6, now they take up sheds. |

Yes we are.
We have so many lights it looks like daytime lol. Basically everywhere in windows on the roof on the brick work even reindeer in the garden and lights up and down the driveway. The ds and kids in the street love it. |

yay cheekymonkeys mum!!
We are the same. Every year i get some bright spark who tells me i should swap to solar lights. i quickly point out the one set i have out by the letterbox. Unless i remember to upend the solar panel we have so many lights it registers as daylight still. We were planning on switching to computerised this year using light show pro but i dont think i will manage to get it all done this year due to the pregnancy. It doesnt help that this years set up will be done via me sitting down telling DH and our various helpers where i want things put. Do you use anything to program your lights? If so how many channels do you have? Where do you get your supply? I am struggling to get a good supplier for the RGB this year so am always keen to find a good supplier. |

No we don't use anything just the little box thing (it has a switch like twinkling or slow etc) the lights come with and set all the lights on the same setting. |

I've always wanted to know what you do about mowing with all those cables running over the yard.
Also always wanted to know how you manage to plug them all in. Do dedicated Xmas lighters get extra powerpoints put in, or double jack on double jack? |

We had a few on a single level home and it looked like a fair bit, then last october we bought a two story so it looked like hardly anything.
Christmas sales last year we bought a huge singing santa and several of those gorgeous musical ornaments with villiages etc. Dh is planning to make a little picket fence to go a long our front verandah and have santa out there. We will keep buying stuff until we have enough to have window and garage displays. We live in an area where people come from all over sydney on bus tours to see the lights, some truly amazing houses and several families who have santas/mrs clause giving out lollies, posing for pics with the kids and the most amazing displays. Every year one street has santa visit on a harley with a sleigh and about 60 elves all on harleys, they raise money for the children's hospital. I hope in a few years time we will have collected a good ammount of stuff to have awesome displays. Sounds like you do a beautiful job, i bet the kids just love it. Edited to remove picture of my house since i posted again with the area. This post has been edited by belnryan: 20/09/2012, 09:24 PM |

I'm a wannabe crazy! DP doesn't get into it at all so if I want any Chrissy lights I'm going to have to do them myself.
