Can I join? I am 16 weeks with #2 (had many early losses inbetween and we were about to start ivf due to hubbys swimmers not doing their thing)
I am shamefully 135kg blush.gif and have low papp-a but nt results were all low risk, so another c-section for me-so I need to try and get this flabby belly smaller before then! I am sure it's half the reason I struggled after my last c-section.
I saw a midwife last week at the hospital who put me as high risk for BMI and low papp-a. I have an appt to see the anaesthetist at 20 weeks which she said was also for my bmi?? Super scared of going to that appt! DH can't come with me for support either-eek.
I see my doctor for the first time the day after my morph scan at 19.5 weeks. Scared of what she's going to say to me too!
I am eating healthy (I think?) -cereal and a banana for breakfast (never eaten breakfast before!), lunch is things like: tuna and salad sandwich/ cruskits or corn thins with cheese and tomato or avocado and tomato etc, snack on bananas, nectarines, peaches or yogurt (only if i need a snack) and dinner is things like stirfry, meat and garden salad etc. I had a rough start to the pregnancy with alot of bleeding which was worse on days I did much-like sweeping, mopping or lots of walking, so i took it easy until I knew things were going to stick. Now I am trying to get into some exercise everyday-so hopefully i can lose a few kgs in the next couple of weeks before those appts! I drink water 99% of the time too.

I'd love to join too. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow with number 3. I literally have no clothes that fit me anymore, it's scary. Last time I weighed myself I was about 92 kgs. Not a good way to be, as I am almost 31 as well.
Dreading going to the first hospital appointment, as I know it won't be good. I really don't want to be high risk, but I think with age and size I may not have a choice.
My eating isn't as bad as it used to be, but all I do it sit down or sleep as I am so exhausted all the time. I wasn't like this with the other two, even though I was of similar size.

I am 20 weeks with number 5. I had my hospital/consultant/anaesthetist appointment last week. The way they kept banging on about weight you would think that an overweight woman has never given birth before. They really annoy me!

I am 38 and am doing GP shared care - that is with being overweight, having a chronic medical condition and a previous c/s (DS2). I decided that is what I would be doing and selected my shared care GP before any hospital appointment.

My GP has said that we need to keep an eye on weight, and we agreed that we would attempt to gain nothing - so as I dropped weight the baby would add and cancel each other out - so far so good and I have stayed at 122kg.

From what I understood at the hospital appt was that they were happy to let me be free with my choices until around 36 weeks then they wanted to re-assess (the anaesthetist said at 20 weeks it was too early to be seeing him) and we could joust it out at that time in relation to how we want the birth to proceed.

I can only suggest if you are feeling apprehensive is to remember that to the hospital staff your appointment is part of their job, they are there day in and day out coming across all types of people all of the time - they forget this is a special time for you. Just nod and smile and take from each appointment what you want. Do not be scared to speak up if someone speaks to you in a way that you don't like and ask for another opinion if something doesn't sound right to you.

Off my soapbox now, its just that hospital staff sometimes really bug me mad.gif

The last doctors I saw (a trainee was in there too) asked me repeatedly if i was feeling ok-am i not supposed to feel good??? I feel great! getting a bit of heartburn at night (didnt mention that) and my sciatica plays up sometimes but i didnt tell them that either. Other than that I feel great!

Good to hear that you are feeling great! I am now 30 weeks and have crept back to my pre-pregnancy weight now that I no longer vomit and feel like eating again unsure.gif

I am seeing the anaesthetist in 4 weeks, but I feel ok about it now because my respiratory specialist has said there is no reason to consider me respiratory compromised and there would be no issue should I have to go under original.gif

I failed the 1 hour GTT but passed the 2 hour - my doctor doesn't think that people should really do the 1 hour one with the number that have to go and do the 2 only to pass huh.gif

Oh its good you can eat again!

I got a letter today to say I have to to the 2 hr test-their limit is 7.8 and my reading was 8.1

Stressing out as they have soooooo much trouble getting blood from me-like can take 5 attempts so having to go through that twice in one day does not make me feel too good. Also i found the 50g drink made me feel terrible and burnt all the way down, they said the 2 hr one is 75g! sick.gif

Hi ladies,

I just found it this morning that I'm pregnant (yay!) but I'm terrified of going to the Docs :-( My BMI is 39 and I really really don't want to be weighed... I'll be even heavier with clothes on - maybe I should wear a light summer dress...

I'm 10 weeks with my third baby, BMI is currently 41.6 I think, which is causing some issues with my choice of hospital. I'm rethinking my preference for a particular private hospital to going public but need to find out what their cut-off is, as I don't want to get shunted to King Edward for being "high risk". Peeves me off a bit as it was no issue when DS was born and I was heavier then, I didn't put any on at all while carrying him (actually lost a bit) and then lost 10-15kg after his birth.

Ah well, will have to see how things go I guess.

I am not sure what my BMI is, but my start weight was 125kg. I had pretty bad m/s for the first 27 weeks so have remained under my start weight for the whole time so far.

Personally, I have found after the hospital made an issue out of it the first appointment they have pretty much left it alone.

I hope you guys don't have too hard a time of it.
