last time i tried everything... walks, hands and knees gardening for hours, curry, pineapple, trampoline and went 2+wks over (disputed edd due to changing care and states at 6months) but a S&S worked wonders, 14 hrs later i was giving birth. im now 37 wks tmw and trying a S&S on 17th as my MW offered one...

About an hour before my water broke, I grabbed all my bags and put them by the front door and said "I'm having this baby tonight!"

It was still 2 days before my EDD but was SO over it, plus I hadn't had any pre-labour, BH or Bloody Show

I'll try that again with this one and see if it works....

My cousin had all 3 kids a day after eating fresh pineapple and BD - all 1 week early!

I used the breast pump with both my children to induce labour. With my first child I used the breast pump before I went to bed on the night before my due date and then woke at 3:30am with contractions and delivered my daughter at 9:22am. Then with my son I used the breast pump at 2am on my son's due date and had my first contraction 25 minutes later and delivered my son 3 hours later. So I definitely recommend using the breast pump to bring on labour as I'm 2 from 2! Good luck original.gif

I went on youtube & looked up reflexology to induce labour on my due date having not had a single hint that labour might be near & wanting to start preparing by body for labour because I was starting to feel like I would be pregnant FOREVER! went into labour at 8.20pm that night & baby was born at 00.12am grin.gif

Speaking of old wives tales....did anyone have any come true in the sense of "acid reflux/indigestion means very hairy baby" or any other type ones like that?

I have heard ones like "carrying high means girl, low means boy" etc.

but did any actually prove true for you?
I'm hoping the indigestion one comes true, as I had no hair when I was born (not kidding) and I hope it was worth all the hours of lost sleep and terrible acid reflux lol

I was opposite carried high with DS and low with DD, and the reflux thing wasn't true for me either had it worse with DS but DD had more hair!!!

I certainly wouldn't recommend it but I was in a minor car accident the day before I went into labour with my third! The poor woman who hit me was so upset to see a 39 week pregnant woman get out of the car on crutches (pelvic instability)...I just told her not to worry, I was VERY ready to have the baby and she may have done me a favour! Sure enough, had the baby the next day and never asked her to fix the scratches on the bumper smile1.gif

I tried everything except castor oil with #1, but it was a stretch and sweep that helped and he was born that night at 41 + 6 days. With #2, some marital relations did the job at 41 wks. With #3, it was again a S + S and he was born at 41 + 4 days. So just sit tight!

Nah - that is why they are called "old wives tales" and they have probably been around since the 17th century. However, it is NOT the baby who decides he is going to be born - it is your body clock which decides when the time is right for the birth and our body clocks are usually very efficient, but do get some help from the OB at times.
