hi
when i was pregnant i was taking blackmores pregnancy and b/feeding gold vitamin supplements. i have just automatically kept taking them now i've had my baby but my GP reckons its unnecessary. is it necessary / useful to keep taking these vitamins while b/feeding? My diet is ok but not great Thanks |

My obstetrician told me that once you have started taking them there's no good reason to stop until you have completed your family, thinking being that there's nothing in there that's going to hurt you, you're replacing vitamins you might be losing through breastfeeding and if/when you fall pregnant again you've definitely been taking them!

I took the same and just finished off the container after I gave birth. I didn't bother after that as they're expensive and my diet is 'ok'. I do try to eat a varied diet too.
No doctor ever mentioned either way for me. |

I have no idea if it's had an impact on breastfeeding, but I've continued taking Elevit because while my diet is generally not bad, there's been various points with DS where it's been not great. I really noticed my energy levels dip on days where I forgot to take it, so I figure it can't hurt
