As it turned out, I got him up eventually and he sat quite happily next to me in my bed.
The hard part though was that the screaming just didn't stop, no matter what I tried. |

He started at about 5.30am.
What I wouldn't give for just a little more sleep.... |

Yep, it sounds like he was ready to start his day. Does he still have a nap? I would try and get through the morning and go to sleep when he goes down.

5:30am is early, I always find it easier to handle when they wake up any time after 6am.
On those days when they wake early I tend to find that I do get alot done around the house with those extra few hours!! |

I hate the pre-dawn toddler risings. The bonus with only one is that you can nap when he goes down though!

What do you mean if you're busy or need him to be safe? If you're busy, you get un-busy. If it's not safe, you make your house safe. At 2, they start asserting their wants and needs more clearly ie screaming. It's up to you to work out what he needs. Most kids that age (and younger) don't want to be restrained in their cot. oh, and btw, Madame Catty, how do you expect him to be safe whilst I'm in the shower? There are some times I just can't watch him for every single second. |
