Our DS (DH is irish) is Fintan, nickname Fin

I like Dillon. With your family connection, I would only not do it if the first syllable of your DS's name was Kill-

Other Irish boys names I especially like:
Declan
Owen/Eoin/Eoghan
Donovan
Finnian
Malachy, but only because I like M alliteration (I have an M Irish last name too now!)
Aidan
Ronan
Finn/Fionn
Patrick/Padraig/Padraic

I wouldn't especially avoid the ending in -n thing unless its really close in other ways too.

My favourite Irish boys name is Ruari (Rory).
