My youngest has been putting undies, pants, shoes on since about 24 months. He has attempted tops, socks etc but less success.
My nearly 5 year old CAN dress himself, but he is not particularly interested. He was probably around 4 when he started being able to manage to get tops and socks on, but could do pants and shoes at three. I do tend to help him because otherwise he will take an hour to get dressed - but with school coming up I'm taking every chance I can to get him to do it all by himself. |

My nearly 4 year old DD is not interested in dressing herself, and therefore refuses. She even still needs help doing jeans up after using the toilet.
She can put on slip on shoes, and can sort-of undress herself. Again, only when she wants to. She's the kind of stubborn kid that if you try and press the issue, she'll regress even more, so I'm trying to ignore it for the time being. |
